I hope that everyone's holidays have been peaceful and relaxing - I know mine haven't! I am really reflecting on 2013 and gearing up for 2014. I am so excited and honored to be starting another year in business as Alex Worlund Photography! With that being said, lets jump into reflection of this spectacular year!
2013. What can I say about a year that has changed so much? 2013 was my first official year in business and it was a FANTASTIC year! I am so honored that to have photographed so many wonderful faces and places. It touches my heart that so many people believed in me and trusted me enough to capture their special moments! From weddings to births to high school seniors, never have I worked with so many wonderful and magnificent people. I could not even begin to tell you how important my 2013 clients were to this first year in business. Without them I don't even know if I would be where I am today. Their trust in me has given me the hope and belief that I can do what I love!
Some highlights of 2013 were:
Photographing my first engagement (January)
Photographing my first solo wedding (April)
Launching my first Senior Rep Program (May)
I graduated (May)
Photographing my first birth (August)
Ad space in Shattered Magazine (Fall)
Getting my official business license (October)
So many wonderful thing this past year! I started this business not even sure if I really loved photography that much. How that has changed in the past 12 months! I am so very excited for 2014 to begin. Something that are different this coming year are; I will be doing photography 3/4-full time, I will no longer be photographing big weddings, and I will be specializing in female Seniors! What does that all mean?
1) I will be doing photography 3/4-full time. I have made the decision not to go back to school this next semester so I will have more time to focus on what I truly love; Photography, my business, and my clients. This also means that I will have standard business hours every week. Look in the New Year for those!
2) I will no longer be photographing big weddings. While I absolutely LOVE a good wedding, I really prefer not to photograph them at this time. The exceptions will be small, intimate weddings and city hall elopements! I would love to capture these so if you or someone you know is looking for an elopement photographer, please direct them my way!
3) I will be specializing in female Seniors. Seniors being High School seniors and College seniors! I adore seniors and I really want to make that my focus in 2014. I want to be able to provide my girls with the feeling of beauty and grace during this special time in their lives. I will be taking male seniors and family portraits, but my availability for them will be very limited so you need to be sure to book now!
I am so very excited for what I have planned in 2014. This year will be full of surprises, excitement and just some good, clean fun! I really look forward to seeing you all in the New Year! Happy holidays from me and mine to you and yours!
